History of the Shop

We’ve been established since 1987 and I’m part of the third generation of butchers in my family; following in the steps of my father, and grandfather, Alfred Turner who opened a shop in North Lane, Aldershot in 1956.

I’ve worked as a butcher since I was 17 and at the age of 23, with the love and support of my wife Jane, decided to start the business with the knowledge and skills I had gained.

For the first 5 years the shop was known as  Mark Turner Quality Butchers until my daughters,  Lauren and Sophie, were born in 1992 and 1994. As a proud dad I renamed the shop,  Mark Turner and Daughters Quality Butchers.

The shop wouldn’t be what it is now without the support and effort of my wife Jane who regularly helps out in busy periods. She also makes the shop’s famous homemade coleslaw.

I’ve seen our business over the past 10 years go from strength to strength as our customers look for quality and variety with that personal touch.

As of August 2020, my manager of 30 years Martin, became owner of Mark Turner and Daughters Quality Butchers with his wife Jackie. The shop will continue to provide the highest quality of meat and service possible.
